Violence Transformed: STAND UP (The Artist's Voice) 2018 showcases creative responses by artists who confront and imagine alternatives to violence at local, national and international levels, address issues of protest, refuge, survival and commemoration, and give expression to the power of art to heal and enrich our lives and our communities. This exhibition aims to stimulate dialogue across boundaries of nation, race, ethnicity, religious ideology (or lack thereof), politics, gender and sexual orientation. It is a celebration of art that demonstrates the power of artists as activists whether they address gun violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment or racial discrimination - and the power of artists and their contribution to change the status quo.
