KUTZTOWN, PA -- The Kutztown University Department of Art is proud to welcome artist Rodrigo Valenzuela at 6 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3, at 120 Sharadin, where he will present an artist talk. His show Jornada is currently on display in KU's Marlin and Regina Miller Gallery. The event is free to attend and open to the public.

Valenzuela uses photo and video-based media to create a conversation around the experiences of the common working-class living in the United States. He draws from his insights and personal experiences to depict in his work the pursuit for the idealized American Dream.

His show will be on display in the Miller Gallery at Kutztown until Sunday, Feb. 9.

Born in Chile, Valenzuela went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in art history and photography at the University of Chile, his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at Evergreen State College and his Master of Fine Arts in photo media at the University of Washington. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he is an assistant professor of photography at UCLA. His show Stature will be on display at the Asya Geisberg Gallery in New York, N.Y., forthcoming this April.
